Robin Day Slat chair, 1952

£1,500.00

Designed by Robin Day in 1952, the Slat Chair is a rare early example of his modernist approach to postwar British design, and a precursor to his later Chevron chair. Originally featured in Hille’s first seating catalogue, it broke away from the bulky styles of the time with its low-slung frame, dowel legs and clean, open structure - drawing influence from American, Scandinavian and Japanese design.

This example has been reupholstered in two-tone Kvadrat deadstock fabric, selected by Irenie Studio as part of the onthesquare project to reflect the original colours and textures.

A refined and increasingly hard-to-find piece.

Priced at £1500.

For any questions or interest, please DM us or email hello@stowstudio.co.uk.
