Designed in 1958 for Jacobsen’s total interior scheme at the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, this Shaker dining table belongs to a rare group of pieces created specifically for the project.
Its rectangular teak top features a subtle beveled edge and is raised on a sculptural aluminium base with rectangular section supports and a connecting stretcher, creating a balanced and architectural form.
Paired with six Oxford swivel dining chairs, originally created for St Catherine’s College, Oxford. Upholstered in black leather, these are good early models, remaining in excellent condition for their age.
